MINI-WORKSHOPUK-ChinaMini-Workshop on UK-Sino e-Science Collaborations As part of the latest round of International e-Science “sister” projects, a number of international collaborations have been formed. Of particular note are the collaborations between the UK e-Science community and the increasingly important e-Science initiative taking place in China. Collaborations between institutions offer many advantages, such as pooling of resources and equipment, and the exchange of ideas and perspectives on research. By forming collaborations between the UK and China, there is the opportunity to produce and adopt global solutions to problems that may be infeasible with only one party involved. By pooling resources and skills between the UK and China we have the potential to advance the field of e-Science faster then before. The mini-workshop seeks to summarise the current collaborations between U.K. and Chinese e-Science communities and to debate how to both stimulate and enhance future collaborations. The workshop aims to:
The format of the workshop will consist of:
The target audience consists of scientists, project leaders and end users involved in or interested in UK-Sino collaborations and who wish to exchange ideas and best practice. These collaborations cover the whole range of scientists involved in e-Science. For further information, please contact Nik Looker ( nlooker@comp.leeds.ac.uk)
