Workshop: UK-KoreaDate: Thursday 21st September 2006, 11:10 - 13:15 Venue: AuditoriumOrganiser: Dr. Kum Won Cho The paradigm of science and technology research is changing into Grid technology based international collaboration. "Korean National e-Science Project" which is initiated by MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology) intends a providing advanced collaborative environment to researchers distributed over the country. Currently, problem solving environments are being constructed in five application areas that are Molecular simulation environment, Numerical wind tunnel, Drug discoveryG2C, Telescience, and Grid infrastructure. Each environment will be developed using common software and infrastructures built by the K*Grid --- "National Grid Project" of Korea. Mini Workshop on UK-Korea e-Science intends to build e-Science environment by sharing experiences in application, middleware, and infrastructure. The workshop also aims to share information about the e-science programs of both countries, and seek for areas of collaboration for UK and Korea We invite application researchers, technology developers, and related professionals.
