Bronze Sponsor
Grid Computing Now! Bronze Sponsors

Grid Computing Now! is a Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), a national network of technical experts and other interested parties, designed to improve the UK's innovation performance by increasing and accelerating the knowledge transfer of technology into UK-based businesses. The activities of KTNs play an increasingly important role in the development of the Government's Technology Strategy, and help to feed and drive the Collaborative Research & Development programme and other innovation interventions.

We are pleased to sponsor this year's e-Science All-Hands Meeting. We would like to invite all delegates to our drinks reception on the Tuesday evening. Our guest speakers will present their visions for what industry needs from e-science research and for how e-science can be exploited to create new UK industrial successes.

National Grid Service

The National Grid Service (NGS) aims to provide coherent electronic access for UK researchers to all computational and data based resources and facilities required to carry out their research, independent of resource or researcher location. The NGS supports users across a wide range of disciplines from the social sciences to the physical sciences by providing them with a comprehensive range of resources as well as access to a dedicated helpdesk and database team. The NGS also provides access to training in conjunction with NeSC and has an outreach strand in order to raise awareness of the benefits of grid computing within UK research.

The British Computer Society (BCS) is the Chartered industry body for IT professionals, the Chartered Engineering Institution for Information Technology and a Chartered Science Institution. With our rapidly growing membership, BCS is playing an increasingly pivotal role in leading the development and implementation of world class standards for the IT profession through innovative products, services and support. Through our specific "Professionalism in IT" programme, BCS is leading and building IT professionalism to levels which are currently only seen in more traditional long standing professions such as law, medicine, and accountancy but which will increasingly become the de facto standards for IT professionals.
