Professor Jeremy FreySharing & Collaboration

The concepts and ideas of "A little Semantics Goes a Long Way", "Publication@Source", "Curation@Source", "On Demand", "Smarter Faster Cheaper Better", "The Cloud", and "Green Research" link together many of the projects undertaken under the e-Science and more generally the e-Research agenda to form useable virtual research (VRE) and learning environments (VLE). I will concentrate the way in which creation and curation of information can be improved so that it can more readily be shared by collaborating researchers, looking at how the needs of people and computers can be accommodated, information exchange facilitated and how the changing ICT environment has influenced the way groups of researchers work together.

Jeremy Frey is Professor of Physical Chemistry at the University of Southampton. His interests include:

  • Interfacial Spectroscopy
  • Nanoscale Laser X-Ray Scattering
  • e-Science - Chemistry Web 2.0
