Call for Abstracts

Call for Submission of Abstracts

Authors are invited to submit abstracts of unpublished, original work of not more than 3 pages in length using single spaced 10 point size on A4 pages - including 2 pages of text and (optionally) 1 of figures and tables. Authors should submit abstracts satisfying the Formatting Guidelines as a PDF file using the AHM2009 Abstract Submission system.

Authors are asked to submit to one of the following Themes or as a 'general paper':

This year, we would especially like to encourage industry collaborators to take a full part in the conference, including contributing to papers. 

Selected abstracts will be invited to submit full papers for consideration  for inclusion in a special edition of the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A. (To be confirmed.) We will also be introducing the Tony Hey prize for the best student paper, named in honour of the outstanding contribution Tony has made to UK e-Science.   This competition is open to any UK student. The prize winner will be asked to present the paper in a special session. Further details will be available soon.

Submitted abstracts will be selected by the Programme Committee for:

  • Invitation to submit a full paper for inclusion in the Phil Trans A Special Issue and inclusion as a presentation or
  • Inclusion as a presentation only or
  • Inclusion as a poster only or
  • Not suitable for inclusion

Important Dates:

  • 10 July 2009 - Deadline for abstract submission (extended from 30 June 2009)
  • 26 August 2009 - Decisions to authors
